That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin.Everyday we face temptations, and if we're not equipped to deal with those temptations, it's highly likely that we'll succumb to sinfulness. It's really important to point out that people don’t sin from being tempted. They sin when they yield to temptation. It reminds me of a story about a man and his wife that were shopping together when a very shapely young woman in a short, form-fitting dress strolled by. The husband’s eyes very easily followed the young lady. As he returned to his senses, his wife simply asked, "Was it worth the trouble that you're in now?" Look at it this way, giving in to temptation isn't worth the trouble or the consequences you'll face down the line. It really makes sense to follow Jesus' example of how to deal with temptation. Christ was tempted by the devil himself, but through it all He never gave in to the fleshly desires of power and lust. It's a tough task, but it's definitely possible.
