Matthew 3:15
But Jesus said, "It must be done, because we must do everything that is right." So then John baptized him.The Bible goes silent about Jesus’ life after the incident where Joseph and Mary found the young Jesus teaching in the temple. Jesus told them in Luke 2:49, "You should have known that I would be in my Father's house." The last words about the young Savior are found in Luke 2:52, "So Jesus grew both in height and in wisdom, and he was loved by God and by all who knew him." Even from the time that Jesus was a young boy He set about doing the right things. He didn't make excuses, nor did He use His authority to exempt himself from the processes of earthly life. In a modern context, these principles were used by General Bernard Montgomery as he began his command in North Africa to rescue the allied forces, he said, "My commands are to be carried out; Orders no longer form the basis for discussion, but for action." As history would later tell, Montgomery delivered victorious battle after victorious battle. Likewise, when we do what’s right and obey God’s exact instructions as found in His Word, our victory is certain and the battle is won.
