But although the world was made through him, the world didn't recognize him when he came.The modern world has boasted about man's inventions all throughout history. However, the strictest definition of the word “invention” really means that the inventor would have created something from nothing. If that's the case, there really haven't been any inventions, but rather things that have been discovered (or found) because the raw materials for inventions were already created. Thomas Edison said, “Discovery is not an invention and I dislike seeing the two words confounded.” The Bible teaches in John 1:3, “He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn't make.” One of the saddest realities is that only a handful of people recognize that God came to the world as a man. That man was Jesus the Son of God, the creator and the only true inventor that ever was and ever will be.
