Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen.
So often we trade our Creator in for the creations made by Him. We give more time and attention to those creations that He has blessed us with and allowed us to have. What we need to understand, instead of chasing illusive items that can't ever truly fulfill us, is that we need to go to the Creator and recognize who He is in our lives. We need to be with Him in fellowship and a personal relationship. On Christmas Eve in 1968, the crew of the spaceship Apollo 8 broadcast a familiar message to earth: "In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth." The astronauts then relayed to earth a sublime picture of the enormity of outer space, a vast unexplored creation of God. Be careful to put God before His creations. He's still the Creator and we need to worship Him.
