And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.
A father is the root or source of a family. If you've come to Christ personally, God is your spiritual father. There are two spiritual fathers that the Bible speaks of: the devil (John 8:44) and God the Father (John 1:12). Jesus Christ came and died on the cross to cleanse us from all our sins to make a way for us to be part of the God’s family, so when you receive and believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, you become rooted to God the Father. Galatians 4:6 says, “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.” With God as your Father, you’re no longer a slave, but a child of God; and if you’re a child of God, you become an heir of God through Christ.
