When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.
Many Christians isolate themselves away from the mainstream of society for fear of possibly embracing or being influenced by worldly things. A better approach would be to insulate oneself from the influences of the world, instead of isolating oneself. If God's people truly desired Christ-like leaders for the world, then the world must not be left solely to the worldly and unrighteous. Christians have an obligation to engage in the leadership of our towns, cities, states and nations because when the Godly are in authority, the people are happy. When leadership, however, is held by the unrighteous and wicked, everyone ends up groaning and miserable. Are the local and national leaders in your life Godly? How would you even know if you haven't taken the time to get involved?
