Serve the Lord with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling. With solemn declaration under oath.
Serving the Lord means doing exactly what He wants, at the time He wants it done. This difficult task can be achieved with continual prayer to God, just as He commanded us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to “pray continually”. The Holy Spirit tells us what the will of God is through His Word as John 16:13 teaches us, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.” Also, 1 Corinthians 2:16 teaches us, “Who can know what the Lord is thinking? Who can give him counsel? But we can understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.” God’s children need to pray often to stay connected with God because He deserves to be served with reverent fear.
