Your attitude should be
the same that Christ Jesus had.
One of the soldiers of Emperor Julian the Apostate (who sought to destroy Christianity beginning in the year 363 AD) sarcastically asked a Christian while persecuting him, “Where is your carpenter now?” The afflicted Christian responded, “He is making a coffin for your emperor.” A few months afterward, Julian was wounded in battle and as he dipped his hand into his bloody wound, he realized that death was upon him. Julian threw his blood toward Heaven surrendering the battle with the words: “Thou hast conquered, O Galilean!” It’s hard to believe that a simple carpenter from Galilee could be great at anything. With that we have to keep in mind that success isn’t always based on aptitude, but also upon attitude. Philippians 2:6-8 explains Jesus’ greatness: “Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, He humbled himself.” Servant leadership – now that’s the path to greatness.
