Anyone who rebels against your word and
does not obey your every command will be
put to death. So be strong and courageous!
After Moses' death, God appointed Joshua as the Israelites' new leader giving him the same authority that was given to Moses before him. This promotion was a reward for being a faithful right hand man to Moses. Likewise, a young LtCol. Dwight D. Eisenhower believed that he wouldn’t rise much further in leadership. The young Eisenhower was a regiment executive officer that had been a major for sixteen years before being promoted and he had become deeply content with his life. The Army had provided him with a good life and he had friends who respected him. Eisenhower was quoted saying, “No man could ask for more.” His career contentment and faithful commitment to a job well-done carried him all the way to the White House as the 34th President of the United States many years later. Take courage and stay faithful to God, being content with what you have and faithfully committed to doing a good job, and He will promote you in His perfect time.
