LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR

Mark 12:31
The second is equally important:
'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
No other commandment is greater than these.

The best way to show love to your neighbor is to choose an everlasting unity with them. As we obey this great commandment, we find that it really works wonders for us. God knows that we already love being with our friends, family and loved ones, but what about our unlovable neighbors? For us to love the unlovable, we need to walk closely with God. We have to share the Good News about the saving grace of Jesus with the unlovable so that they may experience the eternal promise of God. Face it, loving the lovable is easy. The real challenge is in loving the unlovable.

Our love will only be called genuine love when we display love to the those people who are difficult to love. Much more so to those who've done us wrongly. We must admit it. We dislike doing such. We really need Jesus to follow a command like this. For if only by ourselves...? IMPOSSIBLE! Jesus, help!

when i first came to know Christ, i was surrounded on all sides by unlovable Christians that were only interested in fellowship with other Christians that they knew. i was rejected without and even as an adult was asked to sit at children's bible studies. i praise God for holding me up through that time. without surprise, that church is the exact same size (fewer than 30) today as it was back then over 10 years ago. my guess is that God would not trust them with growth b/c He already knows what would happen to non-believers and new believers in that environment. i thank God that my walk has not weakened over the years and i write these things not to insult, but rather with warning and a hope that Christians that read this will carefully watch their actions, words, behavior and thoughts when it comes to people that don't know Christ... you never know, your actions may one day be the cause of someone NOT coming to know Christ and you will be held accountable when the Lord asks you what happened.
