For a man may do his work with wisdom,
knowledge and skill, and then he must leave all
he owns to someone who has not worked for it.
This too is meaningless and a great misfortune.
Ecclesiastes 2:21 is all about the misfortunes of success. You might gain and amass all the wealth you can, but at the end of the day you can’t take it with you. All of it becomes meaningless unless you leave a legacy that turns misfortune into fortune. Jesus taught us in Matthew 16:26, “And how do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul in the process? Is anything worth more than your soul?” Leave a legacy by making people remember God movement in your life and use everything you have to bring people to Jesus Christ. If today was your last day on earth, how would everyone remember you?
