And so blessing and cursing come
pouring out of the same mouth.
Surely, my brothers and sisters,
this is not right!
Before you were a Christian, I’m sure that there were words that would emerge from your mouth without any regard as to whether or not those words would be a blessing or a curse. I remember sharing the Word of God with a boy that received the Lord Jesus as Savior. An adult that knew this boy told me that every sentence this boy spoke contained a curse word. This boy's now a man and he’s an encourager because the words he uses are blessings without curse words. Jesus says in Matthew 12:34, “You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.” If Jesus is in your heart, you’ll find your mouth speaking good things that will be a blessing to others. Have you used curse words today?
